Short Description: STAUBCO® Cool N
STAUBCO® Cool N is a high-quality cooling brine based on monoethylene glycol. It is used in cooling and heating systems as a cooling or heat transfer fluid.
STAUBCO® Cool N can be used effectively in the following applications:
- Industrial cooling systems
- Heating systems
- Solar collectors and solar systems
- Refrigeration systems (e.g. in the food and beverage industry, in supermarkets or cold stores)
- Processes where precise temperature control is required, e.g. in the chemical industry
STAUBCO® Cool N is available in various dilutions and package sizes.
Advantages
STAUBCO® Cool N
- provides efficient heat transfer and excellent temperature control in a wide range of industrial applications.
- was developed for long-term use. Even demanding conditions do not impair the effect.
- is free of ethylhexanoic acid and its salts and is free of nitrite, nitrate, secondary amine, phosphate, borate and silicate.
- is non-toxic and readily biodegradable.

Excellent corrosion protection
STAUBCO Cool N® contains special corrosion inhibitors. They reliably protect your system from damage.
Please note:
- STAUBCO® Cool N is completely miscible with water. The proportion of cooling brine must not be less than 25 % by volume.
- Oxygen ingress consumes the corrosion inhibitors. For this reason, no air may be introduced into the system. Low-diffusion connecting elements or hoses have to be used.
- The corrosion-inhibiting effect of STAUBCO® Cool N should be tested approximately once a year using the pH value. Please refer to the product information for details.
Our recommendation:
STAUBCO® Cool N can be used as a long-term cooling or heating medium. In this case, we recommend using desalinated or demineralized water for dilution. If only drinking water is available, please refer to the product information for data on water hardness.
Material compatibility
Material | Test result: requirement fulfilled | Max. permissible value according to ASTM D 1384 (g/m²) |
---|---|---|
Copper | yes | 3.6 |
Soft solder | yes | 10 |
Brass | yes | 3.6 |
Steel | yes | 3.6 |
Cast iron (gray cast iron) | yes | 3.6 |
Cast aluminium | yes | 10 |
The materials used in plant and heating construction according to the usual rules of technology are not attacked. Sealing materials are also not attacked by STAUBCO® Cool N.
Galvanized system components should be avoided, as zinc is not resistant to glycols.
